The first time I ever saw Nevada and its beauty, the moutain ranges, the pinyon pine tress was back in the year of 1970. As a young lad I had been impatiently waiting to grow up a little that my older brothers, sisters, father and mother would want to take me to this rugged wilderness with sage brush, beautiful mountain ranges that grow this wonderful product called Nevada Jumbo Soft Shell Pine Nuts. I had been wanting to visit this place since I was 4 years old, but all refused to take me there for the reason being that when you are harvesting this product called Nevada Pine Nut, one must camp out and be exposed to the cold and away from all the comforts of being at home. All my family members refused to take me until I was 7 years of age.

The pinyon pine tree is Nevada's official state tree. All Locals that I encounter are very much in love with this species of pinyon pine tree. In the early fall locals always seem to begin to cut this tree for there fire wood to warm there homes in designated areas, and always appear to be looking forward to gathering the fall crop of pine nuts as all US citizens can harvest 25 pounds without a license or permit on any public lands of National Forest or BLM public lands. This amazing pinyon pine tree is perhaps Gods greatest gift to that land of its nativity. It is a beloved tree by all locals that are acquainted to it. This tree is fruitful to all in firewood and in its unique fruit of Jumbo Nevada Soft Shell Pine Nuts.

When I am asked in Nevada "Where are you from?", I reply that unfortunately from many states, as I have resided in the mountains for over a decade, long being in the woods camping and cooking and harvesting this wonderful product called pine nut.
